A friend of mine lives in New York City. He has a tiny apartment in a high rise and doesn’t own a car. He walks to where he needs to go and if he needs a ride he just hails a cab.

I can’t imagine living without a car at my beck and call. I want to be able to get in my car and drive anywhere I want to go. I would hate to have to worry about carrying enough cash money all the time to pay for a cab ride – and back.

He says he lives in a fishbowl of 6 blocks. He rarely goes more than 6 blocks from where he lives. What a strange way to think of your life – living in a fishbowl.
