Tiny reflections on life

Name a Good Beer

Hardly ever buy beer, but I have a recipe for brisket that calls for it. This recipe comes with really good recommendation, so I’m going to follow the instructions exactly. It says to add one bottle of beer. So I have to go to the store and buy something. Any suggestions?

Who Sang That?

My kids was singing a song called, “My Girl.” The music teacher decided that this was a good song to teach the third grade class. I remember that tune, but cannot think of who sang it. The kids says it was Michael Jackson. Was it really? I was thinking it was the Four Tops or The Temptations. I tried to look up the lyrics but I must be doing something wrong. Help a guy out and tell me who sang this song – it’s stuck in my head today.

Bookworm

There is a game online for people who like Scrabble but want to play by themselves. It’s called bookworm and I am addicted to it. I get a board with tiles on it and have to make words to get points. When the tiles are used in the word you create, they come off the boards and the remaining tiles drop.

It is harder than it sounds – my first try at it was a dismal score. Now I am thrilled to announce that I have built up my game to top 100,000 points. I’m shooting for a million.

Nice!

weather

These warm temperatures are what I’m talking about! I like the 70’s, I like the 80’s, and I’m not talking about the historical decades, people. I mean the weather – it’s Spring time around here!

Bruised Foot

If you are lucky enough to be basically healthy and fit, I bet you take your health for granted. I know that I wake up each morning expecting all of my body parts to work like they are supposed to.I think we should be a little more grateful for that.

So this morning, when my feet hit the floor, I was both surprised and annoyed that my right foot hurt. What the heck is that about? I seem to remember stepping on a rock in the driveway last night while unloading the truck with groceries. Maybe that was part of the problem? I looked at the bottom of my foot and wow! There is a huge round bruise there. I think that rock did a lot more damage than I realized at the time.

I’m going to look like a fool limping all over town today, but the foot hurts.
