Tiny Reflections

I’ll never forget the first time some one asked me “Where’s The Beef?” remember that saying that those two old ladies made so popular back in the 80’s? For some reason my response of “If it was up your ass you would know where it was” just came flowing out of my mouth and man didn’t that just crack my my little circle of friends up.

I still have the habit of saying those exact words whenever anyone asks me where something is and it has caused more than a few eyebrows to be raised. I’m sorry but I am a fucking creature of habit and I just can’t help myself. My thought is that if you can’t take a joke then just go take a fucking jump in the lake and chill the fuck out! In today’s world where cuss words are a dime a dozen and you would be hard put to be anywhere in public and not hear some “dirty words” that just seem to come naturally for so many people these days.

I do try and watch my mouth when I’m around senior citizens though. And I wish that more people would do the same, although I do believe that a good amount of our senior citizens could come up with some foul language that would same a sailor. I know that my grandpa sure could belt them out and he didn’t care where he was or who heard him.

This is the big weekend for eating ham. My family has had a ham dinner on Easter Sunday for every fucking year of my life. It’s a big thing around here, but I don’t care. I like ham any time – it doesn’t have to be Easter for me to want to buy a fucking ham.

Its also the weekend for eggs. I know that the store puts eggs on sale because it is Easter and everyone wants to hard boiled the eggs and do the egg dye thing. I don’t see why they make the eggs cheap this week. Why not hike the hell out of the price and make the extra profit? you KNOW all the fuckers are going to be buying eggs – so make the money while you can.

I fucking miss my old shows, like Star Trek; The Next Generation and Star Gate; Atlantis and SG 1. I really love my SyFy, but they haven’t been putting out much that I am interested in lately. Everything is about Ghosts, Vampires, Werewolves and shit. It’s gotten really annoying. the only promise that I have for this year as far as that goes, is the new Riddick movie that will be coming out. Although with my luck it wont come out till next year. I know they just finished up filming, but I can hope for a summer release.

I sent a couple of emails to the SyFy channel letting them know of my displeasure. They need to come up with something a little better than the crap they are showing right now. Can you believe they have Wrestling on Friday nights? I may be a guy but I hate that fake as fuck wrestling shit and it’s not even science fiction. They play it every Friday though and I end up with nothing to watch that I really like. Most of the reality shows are utter crap as well. Only a few have piqued my interest. Logging wars and such like that are okay, but the rest blow completely.

I found a project to work on when I am at home. I bought an old truck that I am going to turn into a fucking mud truck. It will take some time to accomplish, but it will be worth it in the end. The truck was really cheap and needs a lot of work, but I like to work with my hands and fix up vehicles, so this is a perfect project for me. I like to go mudding with the guys and usually just take out my four wheeler, but I love to watch the big trucks and have always wanted one myself. Now I will have one.

The truck is an old Chevy step side. The body is in amazingly good shape and will only need minor repair before I have it painted. That will be last though as I have a lot of mechanical work to do to it first. I have already ordered the lift and suspension kit for it and will pull the motor this weekend. I am rebuilding it from the bottom up to make sure it is exactly the way I want it. I am rebuilding the tranny as well and replacing the transfer case. I don’t think it will take me more than two months to do though.

I am taking a fucking road trip all by myself and getting the hell out of town next weekend. I didn’t invite anyone with me, because I am taking my Harley and unless someone has a bike, I am not interested in them going. I am going to ride to Myrtle Beach, SC and spend some time with surf and sand. I have been there before and really enjoyed it. It is a long drive from here, but that is okay. I have Friday and Monday off, so it’s a four day weekend for me.

I wish it had happened in time for Bike Week in Daytona, because then I would be going there, but I wasn’t that lucky this year. No matter, I know I will have a lot of fun and get some peace and quiet by myself. There are some restaurants in Myrtle Beach that I hope are still there. Benihana’s Japanese Steak House and Japanese Cuisine are two of my favorites as well as a little seafood place down south of the beach. I can’t wait to get there. I have already packed my saddle bags with everything I will need for the trip. I cannot wait to get going.
